FAQs

Find answers to some of our most commonly asked questions or please call our team on 07797 714 930 with any questions you have.

Q. What size skip do I need?

As we offer two different size skips, it depends what is it you are looking for. It may be more cost effective if you order 1 large skip as opposed to two loads of a smaller skip. Please refer to our skip page on our website to see the specifications.

Q. My driveway isn’t large enough, can my skip go on the road?

Should we require to leave a skip on the road, permission should be sought from the parish hall. If this is required please let us know a few days before so the hirer can arrange with the correct parish.

Q. How long can I hire the skip for?

From day of delivery we like to allow 2 weeks before the skip is either changed over or collected for any general skip requirement. With regards to horse manure skips, we imply that the skip must be changed over at least every 2 months due to the fact the manure can rot the skip. Please see to our terms and conditions for more information.

Q. If I need a second skip, when will it arrive?

We always attempt to provide our customers with skips the same day as requested.

Q. How can I pay for my skip?

We currently accept cheques in the post or any form of bank transfer. We are currently looking in to different forms of card payment machines that we will have installed in our office so payment can be made over the phone.

Q. How soon can I get my skip?

We like to be as efficient as possible by delivering your skip the very same day. However, as business happens some days can fluctuate in demand so please take in to consideration that will deliver your skip as soon as we can.

Q. What happens if the waste goes above the side of my skip?

In order to ensure safe transportation, your skip needs to be level loaded. If you are struggling to achieve this, your best option is to hire a second skip to accommodate your additional waste and avoid the possibility of us arriving to collect your full skip only to find we can’t due to it being overloaded.

Q. What can’t go into my skip?

As there are many different materials to list, it is best to speak to one of our team when ordering the skip and they will be able to advise you on what is acceptable to dispose of into the skip. Please also call at anytime should you have any questions regarding the loading of the skip as it is easier to know before filling the skips with what’s acceptable.

Q. What access do you require?

As our fleet of lorries are roughly 2.5m wide and 3.5m high, you need to ensure suitable access is available to the location where you want your skip to be deposited. If access isn’t available when we arrive to drop off or collect your skip, you may have to pay a wasted trip charge. With regards to horse manure skips, should the skip needed to be changed over/ collected and is located in a field, please take in to consideration if the weather has been wet as our lorries may not be able to enter the field.

Q. Will a heavy skip damage my driveway?

To keep the driveway clean and secure, timber load bearers or sheet(s) of ply can be laid by the hirer which will provide suitable protection against scuffing/ damage to the driveway. Please note the driveway must be able to withstand the weight loaded in to the skip plus the vehicle weight combined (anything up to 17tonne)
